While this season has been a roller coaster of wins and losses for the Hurricanes, on Oct. 29 the girls will face Klein Oak marking the end of their season. So far this season, their overall record is 28-13, and their district record is 6-6. Their final matchup will be at Oak at 5:30 p.m. While Oak took the game 3-0 last season, the girls are determined to finish off the season strong.
“We are looking to crush Oak,” Lindsey Barish said. “After all our games whether its a win or loss we bump to music and have a great time.”
Ending On A High Note
After their recent win against Klein Collins, the girls are looking to carry the momentum into the game against Oak. While Oak has an overall record of 20-14, and a district record of 3-8, the girls remain indifferent and hope to leave a message for the future of volleyball.
“I’m really hopeful for the next few years of Cain volleyball,” Katherine Clauson said. “We’ve made a statement, and shown the younger girls in the program what it takes to be successful in the district.”
More Than A Game
Although the girls hope for a positive outcome in the game, their gratitude towards each other remains the same.
“I feel sad thinking about my high school career coming to an end,” Clauson said. ” I couldn’t be more proud of everything we’ve accomplished this year.”
While the game at Oak officially marks the end of the road for the 2019-2020 volleyball season, for some it marks the beginning of a future in volleyball at university. Though the season coming to an end brings many emotions for the team, they’re grateful for the memories it brought and hopeful for the future.
“It’s a really good way to end my senior year,” Barish said. “I wouldn’t want to end it with any other team.
