Engineering their Path to Success
With it only being the second year, the school’s robotics team has been striving for success and higher achievement. Furthermore, the students involved in the classes continue to impress teachers and set higher standards for themselves. Lately, they’ve been attending competitions and placing within the top spots after their constant work and dedication.
“… the Klein Cain Engineering/Robotics program’s competition season has started out with an amazing success in its second year,” engineering teacher Joseph Malchar said. “Three weeks ago Linden Settles and Corbin Braband won the Skills USA Mobile Robotics competition and earned themselves a spot at the Skills USA State Contest in Corpus Christi in early April.”
Today some of the students even competed in the TSA VEX Robotics competition. According to Malchar, three Cain students managed to take home first place.
“They competed against roughly 16 teams within not only Klein ISD but also teams from as far away as Bryan/College Station,” Malchar said. “Linden Settles, Corbin Braband, ad Brian Posada’s robot took home first place, edging out two extremely talented Klein High teams.”
Moreover, Malchar is proud of their continued accomplishments and hopes to see what they’ll be able to accomplish throughout the year. The teams still have work to do and will be attending future events.
“The other Cain robotics team made up of Will Tomshe, Will Stout, and Robert Carney placed fourth…” Malchar said. “…both teams will be representing Klein Cain at the TSA State Contest in Fort Worth in late April.”
