Klein Cain musician Jason Kim has earned a spot in the Texas Music Educators Association. In fact, he’s one of three students in the district to do so. Kim is a violinist in the 11th grade, previously making the ensemble as a freshman and a sophomore at Klein Oak High School. Now, he has become the first student at Klein Cain to make the TMEA All-State Ensemble. On Wednesday, there was even a parade in Hurricane Alley celebrating those who made it to state.
Over the years Klein ISD has had a total of 805 students make the TMEA All-State Ensemble. However, Jason Kim is the first student from Klein Cain to earn a spot. Earning a spot on the All-State takes hard work and dedication. Not only do these students work hard to excel with their chosen instrument, but they maintain their grades at the same time. Balancing academics and the practice necessary to master an instrument is a difficult task, but Jason Kim has pulled it off for the third year in a row.
