Holiday Spending
The holidays are a time where family comes together with love, food, and gifts. With the excitement of seeing everyone often times, people forget to watch their pockets. The pressure of giving can be a lot to handle so they spend money time and time again. This becomes an unhealthy cycle until we hear the dissatisfying sound of our card balance skyrocketing while scrambling to collect change to please people, but it doesn’t have to be this way. By being prepared and budgeting, everyone can make sure their wallet and holiday season is filled with smiling faces.
Everyone should spend their money carefully this holiday season and avoid draining their account balance.
The first step to prepare for the holidays is to set a maximum amount to spend. From there, make a list that covers every expense down to the last napkin. Doing this makes sure they know exactly what to shop for in the store. This lowers the chance of someone picking up an oh so tasty bag of chips they can’t resist.
After the Money Rush
With all of the shopping out of the way, everyone can focus on what cheap and fun activities their family can participate in to have a memorable holiday. The Houston community offers many little to no cost activities that everyone can take part in with family, and friends. Some events being offered in Houston include Home for the Holidays in Old Town Spring, Bass Pro Shops’ Santa’s Wonderland, and Tree Lighting at Market Street. These events are friendly to people’s pockets and are welcome to all community members.
Another great option is right here at the school. Klein Cain is offering some great events including choir and orchestra concerts.
The most effective way to be easy on your bank account is to have self-control. Know when to stop spending, and enjoy the smell of the fresh cookies, Holiday lights, and the company of family. Time is constantly moving, so slow down this holiday with a fist full of cash and a house full of love.
